A Funimation colocou online um vídeo dos bastidores de Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, um filme anime baseado na franchise Mass Effect da BioWare que vai ser lançado dia 28 de Dezembro em DVD & BD.
No vídeo podem ver o processo de animação pelos vários funcionários do estúdio de animação japonês Production I.G conhecido por trabalhos como Patlabor e Ghost in the Shell.
Este projeto animado resultada colaboração entre a Electronic Arts e a sua subsidiária BioWare, a FUNimation Entertainment, o estúdio de animação Production I.G e a T.O. Entertainment.
O filme vai servir de prequela do jogo Mass Effect 3 e vai seguir o início da carreira do Marine James Vega que lidera um esquadrão de forças especiais contra uma misteriosa ameaça extraterrestre conhecida como The Colectors. Vega e os seus soldados vão tentar proteger uma colónia isolada desta força inimiga.
North American anime distributor Funimation began streaming a three-minute behind-the-scenes video from the Mass Effect: Paragon Lost feature on Monday.
The feature will play in six cities in North America on Thursday before its December 28 release on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
The game developer Electronic Arts and its subsidiary BioWare, the North American distributor FUNimation Entertainment, and the anime studio Production I.G partnered with T.O. Entertainment to produce the feature.
The story serves as a prequel to the Mass Effect 3 role-playing game, which Electronic Arts released on the PC and PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. According to Funimation, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost “follows the early career of Alliance Marine, James Vega. Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes.”
