A NHK revelou que a E-Tele vai exibir a 7 de Outubro uma nova série anime de Pingu que foi entregue ao estúdio de animação Polygon Pictures (Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, Ajin).
Esta nova série chama-se Pingu in the City e será totalmente em CG ao contrário da plasticina utilizada em série anteriores.
Pingu in the City é dirigida por Naomi Iwata (Web Ghost PiPoPa, Midnight Horror School) e o argumento foi entregue a Kimiko Ueno (The Royal Tutor) e Shigenori Tanabe (Kemono Friends).
A série anime vai ter 52 episódios de 7 minutos que serão divididos em dois cours de 26 episódios.
