Os jogos nomeados para os The Game Awards 2025 foram oficialmente anunciados, e Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 domina a lista com 12 nomeações, o que o torna no jogo mais nomeado da história do evento. Logo atrás surgem Death Stranding 2: On the Beach e Ghost of Yotei, ambos com oito nomeações, enquanto Hades II foi nomeado para seis.
A Sony Interactive Entertainment lidera como editora mais nomeada de 2025, com 19 nomeações. Em seguida surge a Kepler Interactive, com 13, enquanto Microsoft e Electronic Arts somam 10 nomeações cada.
As nomeações foram reveladas por Geoff Keighley, criador, apresentador e produtor do evento, através de uma transmissão ao vivo. A seleção resulta da votação de um júri composto por vários meios de comunicação internacionais.
Ao todo, serão entregues 27 prémios. Os vencedores serão determinados por:
90% — votação do júri especializado
10% — votação do público
A votação dos fãs decorre até 10 de dezembro, às 18h no site oficial dos The Game Awards 2025.
A cerimónia será transmitida ao vivo, como habitualmente, a partir do Peacock Theater, em Los Angeles, no dia 11 de dezembro de 2025. Para além da entrega dos prémios, o espetáculo contará com anúncios de novos jogos, surpresas e apresentações da The Game Awards Orchestra. O evento de 2024 bateu recordes ao atingir cerca de 154 milhões de visualizações, um aumento de 31% em relação ao ano anterior.
