Durante o painel do filme animado The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, um filme animado de Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Eden of the East), na New York Comic Con foi revelado um painel em estilo tapeçaria do longa. O filme será lançado em dezembro de 2024.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim acontece no período do nono rei de Roran, Helm Hammerhand, e vai expandir o universo de The Lord of the Rings ao mostrar a história do Abismo de Helm, local em que se passa parte dos acontecimentos do segundo filme da franquia.
O filme animado é uma produção da Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) e terá animação da Sola Entertainment, produção de Joseph Chou (Ultraman) e de Peter Jackson (diretor dos filmes originais de The Lord of the Rings) e história por Jeffrey Addiss e Will Matthews com supervisão de Philippa Boyens, uma das roteiristas originais da trilogia de filmes The Lord of the Rings.
